The Haitees project was borne out of a desire to do something constructive to aid those worst hit by the devastating Earthquake that hit the island of Haiti in January 2010. As two University students studying Graphic Design, we decided to best use our abilities by developing a website through which to sell t-shirts designed by some of our famous artists. We contacted the shirt-printing company MySoti to ask them to collaborate with us on the project and they were more than happy to help. Their support in the project has proved invaluable. We also approached Big Wow Badges and Evolution Print to help us produce promotional materials and they have proved to be incredibly supportive to us. Our web developer Smilyan has also gone above and beyond the call of duty, working hard to produce an amazing website for us!
The Red Cross are our chosen charity to receive the donations from the Haitees project, as we feel their experience and presence in the area, before the Earthquake, made them the best equipped to use the money to help the people of Haiti. MySoti and Haitees.com take absolutely no profits from the sales of the shirts, and after the initial production costs are covered, every penny is donated straight to The Red Cross.
Of course, the artists are the people who have really made this project possible, and the designs we have received have been really incredible. As you can see, they have donated some truly amazing pieces. All of the work you can find in the gallery is available in the mysoti store, so head on over and start helping the people of Haiti by buying some truly original and beautifully designed t-shirts.
Thanks for visiting Haitees.com.
Paul & Steve.
